Busra.mtr.—Some burglar broke into the
dwelling house of Mr. Forsyth, who read. on
Gay Alley, between Sandusky street and the
East Common, on Saturday moraine, about two
o'clock, and stole $lB In money. In his
search after
,after farther plunder, he alarmed
the inmates of the house, who rose, and he fled.
Rum—Lewis Cook, a cabinet maker, who in
sides on Centre Avenue, was attacked by some
ruffians, to whore he had offered no provocation,
on Saturday night, as he was panting up Wylie'
street., and forced to fly. Ile took refuge In the
house of. Mr. Samuel Eannen, at the corner of
Wylie and Tunnel Weds, bat was pursued and
badly hasten; bin head was severely cat, nod be
wan otherwise injured. Pollee officers McCoy
and Boyd, on Sunday accented Edward McCune°
_and Michael Tinning, charged with being con
cerned in the affray, and they' were held to bail
by
,Alderman Major, in the rum of $5OO for
their appearance at the nest Court of Quarter
Sessions. Mr. Ilannen Moo lodged a complaint
against Mr. ?defiance, whom he accuses of as
sault and battery with intent to kill, and he wan
hell to bail on thin charge, likewise.
Arteisrm,.—A mon named John Young, was
yelderlay arrested by the Mayor's Police, in a
!tomtit on Smithfield street, nenr Third, on a
charge of being concerned in a burglary recently
committed in Somerset county. The encased
made his escape, but was aftewards recaptured
in a house in Cherry alley, and taken on to
Johnstown, thence to be'sentto the place where
be is alleged io been committed the offence.

Allegheny, was knocked down on Saturday
night, by some cowardly ruffian, who came op
behind him at the corner of Sandusky street,
and felled him to the earth with a brick. Ile is
very ncyerely injured.
