A report relative to the probable re-opening
of Banish to Mulottery enterprise was next
read. It stated that war existed between the
inhabitants of that country and the British
Eaet India Company, and, as bad always been
the cue In aimilar conjunctures of cirocunatan
ties, this field of labor, Arst• chosen, but long
closed, Would be again opened. ,The executive
committee would earnestly press upon all the
American churches,the importance of liberally
providing for missions to Burmah.
A paper was presented by the executive com
mittee, from which it appeared that the esti
mated expenses which would be required forth"
support of the foreign missions for the year end
ing MagrA 1853, would be $135,000. Twenty
new laborers, male and female, would be requir
ed, and their expenses would be $lO,OOO for the
year 1853 more than was upended ° in 1861.
The boned had now-missions established in Eu
rope, Adis; and Africa, togethenwith 6ve of our
own Indiaritribes. The average sum contribut
ed by each member of the three hundred thou
sand oornmunicenta of the Baptist Church, was
thirty-three cents. Fifty-two Baptist clergy
men out of the twenty-five hundred in the nor
thern States are engaged In foreign missions.
In Britlah Burma' there are twenty-two, being
one to every 320,000 lehabitants. Including
native assistants, there Is only one gospel la
borer to evety 60,000 natives. The report con
cluded by calling on the preachers of the Gos
pel so to Illustrate and enforce the docrines of
their religion, as to advance the cause of domes
tic and foreign missions. •

AIRS. ADAMS FUNERAL.
WASHIIIOTON, May 18.
The fanersi.of Mrs. Adams, relict of John Q.
Adam., took place this morning. The President
and all the members of the Cabinet, except Mr.
Webster, were present. Also Generale Scott
and Wool, and a large number of members of
Congress, and other dignitaries. The Rev. Smith
Pyne read the Eploo'opal service.
The corpse was Interred in the Congileselon
al Cemetery, and is herilafter t 6 be removed to
Quincy.

The savannah News states that letters receiv
ed by the steamship Isabel. from Cuba, assert
that rumors were.corrent in the Island that an
other expedition was on foet in the United States,
and that Venezuela was to be the nude:Tors for
the troops, and the names of the officers who
were to command the expedition were given.—
The rumor had caused considerable uneasiness
in Cubs. •
The Herald eays that Don A. Lague, Triage
Miranda, Don Ygnairo Belanpres, and Don Juan
Obourke, Cubans, and Mejor Lewin J. Fichlo
senger, a Hungarian, exciped from the Spanish
Penal Colony, at Cents, 'Africa, on the 21th of
