'The object of tlie meeting being state.] by
the President, thq. following gentlemen wore
chosen, vit.: R. T. Wallace, Charles C. Phillips,
and J amen Steen, as a Committee on Resolution,.
During the absence of the Committee, the meet
ing was addredseil by Mr. W. W. Alexander, in
a highly interesting manner, , giving a fhll and
complete elucidation of the impoitance and tie
cessity of constructing a railroad from the city
of Cleveland to they city of Pittsburgh, via the
Malioning, Big Beaver, Connoquenessing and
Brush Creek i allied, and proving conclusively
t by the geography of the country, and the grand
connexions which 'it will make between our
north-we:gem railroads and the great Central
Railroad, that it is ono of the moat highly
portmat improvements that has ever elicited gni'
attention.

T. Wallace, made the following report, which
wan unanimously adopted:
Whereas, By en Act of the General Assem
bly of the State of Ohio, weed the 2.11 d Feb.,

pany, to be called the Cleveland and Mshoning-
Valley Railroad Company, the object of which.
was to construct a road froric Cleveland to Pitto
burgh, via Warren and the Maboning Valley,

Agreeably to precious notice, a large and en
thiniastio meeting of the citizens of North Sew
ickley and adjoining townships was held in the
Academy of North Sewickley, on Thursday, the
I Ith of March, at 1 o'clock, P. M.
The meeting was organised by calling Dr. R.
Cunningham to the Chair, and appointing
Jacob Pearsol, Esq., Solomon •Bennet, Esti •
and R. Nevin,. . Esq., Vice Pre.tidents, owl
M. Heide, Esq., and R. E. McGregor, EN.,
Seoretariee.
The object of the meeting being Etat rd, Mr.
