From the evidence it appeared that Simpson had used threats towards Lira Young, and he was sentenced to pay the costs, and enter lobo rscognizanees to keep the peace. The; parties reside in the Third Ward. Common Wealth ye William Price and Michael Brown, indicted for. having, as was alleged, stolen a ham, the property of Frederick Leid St 'Co. The stolen article was described in the in dictment as the property of Frederick Leid alone, and Deputy Attorney Flannegin, at once quashed the bill. Al the prisoners had been in jail on this trilling charge, ever time the-mid dle of August, he deemed that they had been sufficiently punished, to he declined to apply to have them remanded. A verdict of not guilty wne returned, and the prisoners were discharged by proclamation. Harris, of Tennessee, introduced a eerier of joint resolutions, explanatory of the laud bounty act of September, ISOO, to the effect that nothing in it shall be construed to prevent the oath or transfer of any certificate or laud warrant prior to the location of the same. Mr. Weddle proposed to amend them so us to make all land wtferants assignable, which Mr. Harris accepted. Before final action woo taken upon this amendment, the - Rouse, pursuant to the order adopted yesterday, proceeded to select seats, prellmlnary to which, the member, left their places. Grier and Morton gave notice of oili er bills, granting land to Missouri and Florida, for railroads in those States. Mr. Underwood gave notice of a joint resolu tion, making land warrants assignable. Mr. Foote's resolution for the appointment of a committee to make arrangements for the re cetion of Kossuth, was then taken up and debated at large. The resolution having been read, Mr. Foote moved for a joint committee cf arrangement to consist of three Senators and 6ve representa tives. Mr. Clemens called for the reading of the res elution authorizing the sending of the United' States vessel for Kossuth. It was read accord ingly. Mr--Dawson spoke strongly against the repo• Intim. We had already done enough to chow our Sympathy for Kossuth. Mr: Hale proposed an amendment extending the national sympathy to the victims of oppres sion everywhere. Mr. Foote rebuked Mr. Halo for his factional movement, and defended hie resolution. He was indignant at the aepiraions which had bean cast upon Kossuth. He eulogized him as the most illustrious man of the present generation. Con gress had invited him here, and should they now refuse to give a proper reception• Mr. Hale replied, he had hoped that agitation woe ended, hat regretted that there was a 'prospect of renewing it by Mr. Foote's compro mine.
