The committee on church policy, by their
chairman, Rev. J. 11. Hotchkin, reported, touch- i
ing the continuance of correspondence with the
General Association of New York. The report '
was adopted, and is as follows
On the subject of the report of the delegates I
to the General Association of the state of New
York, your committee would report, that from
the local position in which that body, nod
large portion of the Presbyterian Church are
placed in respect to each other, it is natural that
spirit of rivalry should exist between them, and
'that this should engender a spirit of proselyteism,
which appears to have been manifested in a de
gree, in some of the past action of the associa
tion, which we hope will not be persisted in on
their part, and which we trust will never char
acterise the action of our Church:
Weare brethren of the same family, bare the
same Lord, the same Father, the same baptism.
'and the same great ends in 'view, and ehould live
togeper in the strictest.bonds of holy fellowship
and union, staining together for the advancement
of the kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus
Christ. Whether an individual church chooses
to administer its dioiplioe in the Prcebyterinn
.or Congregational way is comparatively a matter
of minor concern. Let each be persuaded in his
own mind, and not interfere with thy rights of
bin. brother.. We recommend that the correspon
dence be continuiA, and hope that it lazy be so
ecinducted as to Wm mutually satisfactory, and
promotive
of the interests of the iiingdom of our
dearriedeemer.
The election of trustee's of the Assomhly, and
of directors of the Theological Seminaries, was

The annual concert for the co s set -6. n o f the

January.
After the Lord's Sapper was administered the
Assembly proceeded to the bearing of reports
from the theological seminaries.
After prayer by Ben. 31. Bishop, Assembly
