'COUSWELL's PANDRAKA.—This fine panorama
continues to draw crowds to the Athanwum ev
ery evening. It is well worth seeing for it ghes
a faithful representation of life in California.'
THE WARDLErLm.—This delightful band of Ne
gro Minstrels will give another concert alio even

his benefit-
Ina Excutaaar.—We °beery° that a large
number of workmen are engaged in refitting this
popular berme of ertertainment, and presume
that it will be reopened on the first of April.
lI.ETINO. OF SUE COMMON COUNCIL.—The Com
mon Council met on lhursday night, and con
curred in the important ordinances, which hod
previously pined the Select Council, as follows:
The ordinance from S, C. for'the grading of
Second street, provided the same is planked by
the Ltraddock's Field Plmk Road Company; also,
providing for the paving, of Centre Avenue, was
adopted. _
A report from S. C., accompanied by a draft
of an act of Assembly in regard to the collection
of water rents, was also adopted.
The present ordinance in regard to the licen
sing of drays was repealed, and the committee
on ordinances instructed to report a new ordi
nance to settle existing difficulties. •
Itroaoraukuu.—Several three story buildings
on Market street, between Liberty and- Fifth,
are now being torn down, to be replaced by.better
and more modern structures.
Stacy KILLING.—Wo learn that a number of
dogs, which have been seismd with a mania for
sheep killing, ore at the present time very de
stractive to the flocks of our farmers• Jesse
Garrard, of Indiana township, had two fine ewes
killed on Wednesday night, though be had folded
his flock under his bedroom window. A number
of circa :and lambs belonging to the farmers
in that neighborhood , have also been killed of
late.
Mr. J. Garrard of the came township, shot
two of these wolfish animals in one day, while
they were killing his sheep, and no doubt many
others hare been killed, but their numbers
appear to be on the increase.
NEELASCHOt.F. Scicins.--On Wednesday after
noon, Mrs Bridget Luteiwns found in the third
story of an unocupied house on Fountain street,
next door to her own residence perfectly insensi
ble, and apparantly laboring under the effects of
some powerful narcotic. She was at once re
-1 snored to her own house, and some medical gen
't tlemen called in, but nil their efforts to save her
proved ineffectual, and Abe died on Thursday
morning.
The husband, who is a laborer on the railroad,
was sent for, and the coroner called in to hold
an inquest on the remains. A post mortem ex
amination proved that she had died from the eft
fects of laudanum, which she had probable ta
ken in a fit of delirium caused by family difficul
ties, end a verdict to teat effect was rendered.
