The bridges and buildings depart
ment of the LaLkawnnna raihoad, un
der the dhection of Supeiintendcnt W.

ber of much-nooded inipiovements at
dirfeient points along the line.
A signal tower station Is being erect
ed at Nicholson, a now fi eight station
is under way ut Plymouth, a nine-stall
lound house and turntable nio being
built at Sjracuse, and general icpalis
are being made at the Kingsley, Conk
lin and Fnctoryvillo stations.
A number of new biidgcs are also
being put In to replace old ones. Ar
langements are nbout ready for put
ting In the new biidge over Cuibon
sheet, mid woik will be commenced

The Scranton round house Is about
finished, and the work of grading the
site of the now car shops has boon
commenced by BurkeBiothor3.
Dining the summer, all the mine cms
have been over-hauled and lepaitcd,
and the cars used In tinnsportlng coal
have also been tluough tho shops.
Nearly all the engines which havo
been idle during the summer have also
been lepalied and painted, and tho
