schools. Deceased was born in Hones

taught in the Ilawley schools. She was
a consistent, earnest Christian worker
In the 'hurcli, Sunday school and
Christian Kndcavor society. Her loss
will be greatly felt. Piobably no per
son ever experienced so broad an in
fluence 'with young people as did Miss
Sutton, with her long continued service
In the schools and church work. She
is survived by one brother. Charles, of

Scraiitou defeated Wllkes-Uarrc at
the park yesterday by the score of l'i
to S. This victory strengthened Scran-
ton's hold on llrst place.
McGarry did the twirling for Scran
ton, and at times he was a little wild.
Ross was In the box for Wllkes-Harre,
and he was wilder, for he gave six men
their base on balls to McGnrry's one.
Both pitchers were hit hard; Ross for
sixteen hits and McGarry for eight.
Sullivan was back nt third again yes
terday, and the team seemed to piny
faster ball with him there. Rnlney put
up a great game behind the bat. Ho
had six unassisted put-outs to his
credit.
Tho Wllkcs-Rarro team learned to
their sorrow that Rnlney can throw to
the bases, for ho caught two of the
visiting team who attempted to steal
second, and then the rest of them got
wise and hugged the bases close,
Logan batted tho ball out In great
shape. Ho had two doubles, two singles
nnd ho was also hit by a pitched ball.
Schmaltz Is beginning to get his peep
ers on the ball, and with a little more
experience will bat as well as the vest.
