IN THE FATAL EIGHTH.
Scranton Defeated at the Park Yes
terday by the Lancaster Team.
Two Local Men Flayed.
The fatal eighth again. I
Scranton lost yesterday afternoon be
cause the team played lllto a lot of
scho'ol-boys. Sullivan was on the nlcl
lint, so they put Mcdarry at third. He
made an error, and Steinberg took his
olace.
Wlltso pitched a good game, but the
support he had was bad enough to send
Scranton to the bottom of the leuguc.
Blakey -didn't hit the horschtdn as
hard as In Wednesday's game, for the
reason that ilcGlynn, the Lancaster
pitcher, was practically invincible. IIo
received gllt-edgc support.
Scranton started the game by getting
goose eggs in tlio first and second In
nings, Lancaster doing likewise. Then
the locals got t o, and that was all the
scoring they did until the eighth, when
Logan knocked a two-bagger, and
Steinberg smashed out a hot single,
thereby scoring Logan. Scranton's hope
of ever winning died in this Inning,
for errors by Blakey, Nickels and
Stroh, combined with timely hitting,
gave Lancaster the game.
The visiting team had two local men
playing with them yesterday. They
were' Giller.in and Veiris, and they put
up u star game. The score:
