Stand by the
Standard
In baking powder, Cleveland's is the
standard, the powder of highest reputa
tion, greatest strength and absolutely
pure. It renders the food more health
ful and palatable, and is. most economi
cal in practical use.
Cleveland's Baking Powder is never
sampled, sold by schemes or lotteries,
gifts or giving salesmen gold watches or
commissions. The housewife gets in
the purest and best of baking powders
the whole value of the money she pays
for it.
If you value good, pure food, let your
baking powder be "Cleveland's."

. THE MARKETS
"Wall Street Review.
New York, April 2. The naming of the most
ncthe stocks in today's market is in itself on
iUumiuating commentary of tho character of the'
market. United Mates Leather led the list,
followed at u tonsliluable interval by Amalga
mated Copper. The Healings In Colorado Fuel
fell to quite iifeignlltcaiit proportions in com
parison with the lecent nailing. Sugar was
well up in the JUt of active btocks. Of the
prominent railroads only fat. Paul and Louissllle
showed u notable degiee of activity and the
fluctuations did not reach as much as a point in
either of them. The extreme range in the
United States Steel stocks was i for tho coin
moil and U for the puferrcd and both dosed
a blinde under last night, in spite of the extra
ordinary earnings reported for the .vear of ttic
company's existence and the official assurance
given, of the success of the plan for providing
10,000,000 additional capital. Many of the
usually prominent blocks did not open at all be
furo the middle of the day's session and not a
tew will ba found with no sales recorded. The
price movements of any consequence arc almost
invariably amongst the lcs known stocks and
the reasons advacen were very obscure. St.
Paul ad Omaha loec six points on a few trans
actions and the prefcired live, but Perc Mar
qucttto dropped sk on only one sale. The Hock
ing Valley slocks, were active and strong, the
common rising four and the preferred two. The
Wisconsin C'ential btocks unci tho Toledo, fat.
Louis and Western were bought, apparently on
the strength of their Miatcgic position in the
competitive field. The losses, which wero lib
erally sprinkled thiough tho list ol stocks had
no other explanation than they had previously
advanced on lumors which hive not been con
firmed. The weakness of Rock Island was aiso
ciated with the announcement of its additional
block issue. The decline in the Buffalo, Roches
ter and I'itUburg stock:, was doubtless due to
the coal miners strike in its territory. The
movement in the general list was insignificant
jnd the market closed dull and heavy on the
taking of profits by room traders. Total sales
today, 410,700 shares. There was a good de
mand for lior.ds which was better distributed
than of late. Total sales, par value, $2,1S0,0(V.
United States bonds were ail unchanged on tho
la.st tall.
