The Ontario mid Western railroad In
creased ltn iintliruelte coal tonnage, by
reason ot its pure-huso of now coal
properties, 600,000 tons lost year. No
doubt even turgor Increases would have
been shown If greater facilities for
transporting sumo had been available,
though this will unquestionably come
this year, and, It Is thought, the three
million mark will bo reached. The
munagement of this roud has spent
considerable money In Improving Its
system during the year and Is Increas
ing Its rolling stock and motive power
as fast as it can bo turned out of the
shops. ,
The road lias COO steel cars to bo de
livered on April 1, and ten 100-ton loco
motives. The facilities for loading coal
nt Wochuwken have been greatly lm
pioved by the construction of a new
pier and coal pockets, which are now
In operation, and have a capacity equal
to any m the North river. Dickson &
Kddy, the general sales agents for On
tario and Western coal, report a large
Increase In the supply of their steam
sizes. This llrm has been particularly
active In the placing and exploiting of
these sizes in the steam trade, and to
meet the demand have constructed an
other washer at their Cupouso colliery,
which will be put in operation as soon
ns a better supply of cars are avail
able. Tills company made the record
of 205,000 tons last year from one of
the washerles, which is the larppstt ton
nage ever produced from one plant In
this space of time.
Dont Llko the New Schedule.
The Delaware, Lackawanna and
Western company notified the llremen
and engineers ut the Avondale colliery
on Sunday last, commencing with yes
terday morning, they would be expect
ed to accept the proposition of the
company and adopt the new working
rules promulgated several days ago,
whereby one shift goes on duty at 7 a,
in. and works until B p. in., when it
would bo relieved by the other set,
which in turn would be relieved at
midnight by the men who quit at 5
o'clock.
The men refused to accept the prop
osition and were discharged. The other
employes returned home as soon as
they ascertained the situation of af
fairs, and the result is that the mine is
idle. Wilkes-Barre Record.

The extensive new addition which has
been built to the Lackawanna railroad

pleted, and contains twenty-two stalls.
The larso E00 nnd 1000 class are now
being housed there.
Only a fow of tho locomotives on this
division of the Lehigh Valley are yet
using hard coal. The change from bi
tuminous to anthracite can not be
made as expeditiously as all concerned
would deshe. Tho grates of the !6co
motlves will have to be adapted to tho
use of tho now fuel, and this can only
bo done as rapidly as tho engines are
sent to tho shops for repairs. Just
now none of tho motive power o the
lluzleton nnd Mnlianoy division can bo
spared. The change in the use of fuel,
therefore, will bo gradual, llazleton

It has character and it is a fact. Yesterday, the first day of the Fourth
"Mill-End" Sale at Goldsmith's Bazaar, has proven more than ever that this sale
is Scranton's idol. With all the might of this enterprising city, the crowds came
yesterday until they were beyond our control. Mr. Lockhart's cleverness and his
always true, gentlemanly attitude has made hiirTand his sale a host of friends in
this city. He is indispensible in conducting this sale. The more we see of his
work the more we appreciate the good results from it. There will not be a dull,
dreary moment for you today. These magic, new "Mill-End" bargains permeate
every nook and corner of this busy store.
"Mill-EJnd " Examples inu Basement.
Mr. Lockhart lias supplied 'this department, with so manv
cases and bales of Mill Ends, 'which will serve to make the
Basement one of the chief attractions of the sale.

ONLY A SUGGESTION,
But It Hns rroven of Interest
und Value to Thousands-
Common, &onso would suggest that If
one wishes tv become flcMhy and plump
It can only result from the food wo cat
and digest, and that food should be
albuminous or llcsh-formlng food, llko
eggs, bcefsteuk and cereals; In other
wot dit, tho kind ot food thut make flesh
aro tho foods which form tho gicaler
part of our dally bills of fare.
V c323E3
But the trouble In that while wo eat
enough nnd generally too much, tho
stomach, from nbuso and overwork,
docs not properly digest nnd asslmllat4
It, which Is the reason so many people
remain thin and under weight; tho di
gestive organs do not completely digest
tho llesh-forming beefsteak and eggs
and similar wholesome food.
There are thousands of such who are
really confirmed dyspeptics, although
they may have no particular pain or
Inconvenience from their stomachs.
If such persons would lay their preju
dices aside and mako a regular prac
tice of talcing, after each meal, ono or
two of Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets the
food would bo quickly and thoroughly
digested, because these tablets contain
the natural peptones nnd diastase
which every weak stomach lacks, and
by supplying this want the stomach Is
soon enabled to regain Its natural tone
and vigor.
Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets digest ev
ery form of llesh-forming food, meat,
eggs, bread and potatoes, and tills
Is tho reason they so quickly build up,
strengthen and invigorate thin, dys
petic men, women and children.
Invalids and children, even the most
delicate, use them with marked benefit
ns they contain no strong, irritating
drugs, no cathartic nor any harmful in
gredient. Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets Is the
most successful and most widely known
of any remedy for; stomach troubles
because it Is the most reasonable and
scientific of modern medicines.
Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets are sold
by every druggist in the United States
and Cunada as well as In Great Britain,
at 50 cents for complete treatment.
Nothing further Is required to cure
any stomach trouble or to make thin,
nervous, dyspetlo people strong, plump
and well.
