Third Day of the Musical Alliance
Marks Some Very Rapid Progress
in the Work Several New Ar
rivals Join the Class.

day of llic Lackawanna and Wyoming
Musical Alliance showed some marked
advanceinenl in tlie chorus work, and
the way thai the chij-s handles the
dlfllcult music taken up. demonstrates
the fact more fully than ever that
Prof. I'.owmau Is a remarkable con
ductor and has a system of Instruct
ing that is all his own. The morning
session Wednesday we.- paitly taken
up with voice exercises with Instinc
tive talk on voice training. The chorus
practice were. "Lord Vouchsafe Thy
Loving Kindness," from "lluypt's
Pondage Come."
The afternoon session was taken up
with the usual chorus wot k. In tin
evening, during' the session, Miss llow
man was present and contributed two
selections which was much enjoyed
and appiecialed by the class. Miss
Tiownian has a very strong', sweet con
tralto voice of which she has splendid
control and at once captivates her au
dience. .Miss Itnwniaii i.s a daughter
of Prof, liowiiian and in Xew York
wbcie she resides, she Is a great fav
orite with the music loving people.
Her concert work last night, as solo
contralto, was of the highest class
and she was tepeatedly cneoied by
the appreciative audience. She will be
heard to a still greater advantage In
tonight's concert. Last night's concert
was of the high class, such as marks
the Thursday night's concerts of the
Alliance, and was atieiuled by a good
slued audience. Tonight's concert, the
programme of which Is given below,
promises to be one of the best ever
held by the Alliance and those who
fall to heat ii will eeitalnly mlss a
rate musical treat.
