NO EXCITEMENT AT TEACHERS' ELECTION School Board Unanimously Ejected All but Those of the High School, on Which Action Was Postponed Because of the Chairman's Absence. A Iatrp number of spectators were at Saturday night's meeting of the school board, but the excitement at tendant upon the election of teachers which they looked for failed to ma terialize. The meeting whs a model of harmony. All of the teachers were elected ex cept those of the high school, over which the contention exists. Action on the principal and other teachers of the high school building was post poned, owing to Mr. Hughes' absence, which was caused by the critical Ill ness of his mother. A meting of the teachers had been held Saturday morning. It was decided to have all of tho pupils In the parade, which Is to be headed by the school board. Each school Is to bo lepresented by an appropilate float. The leport was received and the com mittee continued. The board granted the use of the Ccntial school building and grounds for the teunlon of old residents during the semi-centennial celebration. Secretary Kerwln was Instructed to advcitUc for bids fur the supplying of coal to the various buildings and It was decided to make a final settlement with ex-Janitor Leo by giving him the $23 which has been In dispute since his release. The city teaiheis met In special ses sion Saturday afternoon to discuss plans for the participation of the, school children in the semi-centennial cele bration. It Is Intended to hold a demonstration In which all the children aie to appear and It was how to approach this that the teachers met. Abe L. Salmi, the pusher of publicity for the jubilee, was on hand and offered sugestlons that will likely be acted upon.
