Support for the market Irom the latite liinMntr Interests ami abdicates, which irrturrl )rsterdiy tn have abandoned It to the cflccts ol forced liquidation, worked a prompt transformation in speculative rrntlmcnt today. The opening dcallnw disclosed that there was allll iirireiit liquidation lo be dialed and some heay blocks were thrown upon the market at sharp concessions from lsst night' cto.inir price", but brokers with supporting order wcro preient at the aamo time and were bidding: above the price, nt which aome tvere letting stocks (to. The docks which suffered most acutely In yester day's liquidation were mot conspicuous in to day's rally, notably St. Paul, t'tilon Pacific Missouri Pacini' and Atchison. The movement In theo stocks was eclipsed by that of Louis llle, In which the dealings were on a very lirgc scale. The opening loss In this slock and tho subsequent inovo gave rotor lo the supposi tion that it was raided for the purpose of accunv tilatlng slock. Some special strength was shown by Illinois Central on the declaration of the dividend and the derision tn issue new slock, and by Ml Iuls and San Francisco second prefeircd on the placing of the stock on a four per cent, dividend basis. There was no apparent cause for the re emery in the general list aside from the confl. elenee Inspired by the evidence that powerful support was In the market and the ominous ur gent liquidation of sesterdsy was thereby chetked Total sales today, Mj.t'OO shares.
