Anthracite Coal Trade,
Considering the tciiiflu heat that
has pievailed over all auilunuito
burning teirltoiy tho past week, tho
demand for coal has been ically phe
nomenal. In spite of picdlctinns of
a slack market later on, theie Is as
yet mi sign of overpioductlon. What
i oal Is mined goes to dealers at once,
nnd as large consumcis continue to
lay in supplies, dealers' stocks giow
but slowly. Tho June shipments fiom
the mines were much heavier than
was expected when the now scale of
discounts went Into effect on Apill 1st,
nnd the July movement Is likely to bo
no less lemarkahle.
Demand at the head of tho lakes
Is still light, but Is bound to Improve
hefoio long. Coal Is acuuiulatlng but
slowly at the docks, and a lot will bo
needed befoio navigation closes. In
Chicago tenitory demand Is Increas
