THR SCRANTON TRIBUNE has inniigurntoil its second Edu
cational Contest which, like the first, is open to every ambi
tious person, not only In Scranton, but throtiRhoiu Lacka
wanna and other counties in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
This contest will be even greater in magnitude than Its predeces
sor, embracinR special rewards of the very holiest character, and
will be carried out in strict accordance with the mlcs of fairness
and justice.
The first contest, which occupied the attention of our read
ers fiom July to October of last year, met with such encourage
ment and was so successful in every way that, it lias been de
cided to repeat It.
This year the special rewards are limited to those of an edu
cational character, eight scholarships being oflered to the very
best educational institutions In the state.
