burners, for general freight traffic.

tho Buffalo division: twenty hard coal
burners, for general freight trafTlc;
fight passenger engines for main line
transportation.
The only difference between the bard
and soft coal burners will le In the
fireboxes, tho former peimltting the
use of the fine washed coal and other
small sizes, while the latter will onlv
bo fed with tho bituminous fuel, which
comes In largo lumps, and crumbles
when tho heat penetrates It.
Another Railroad Scheme.
Within tho pat-t few yrars propound
new railroads to tap the anthraulto
coal fields have been heard of period
ically, but they never" materialized. A
railroad, with its western terminus at
Wllliamsport nnd its eastern at Port
Tervls, Is now promised, and Wilkes
JJarrc Is to be ono of tho inosc linpoit
nnt cities it will touch. A charter for
thti construction of tho road has hcon
granted and among tho capitalists In
terested nro several Wilkeo-Bnrrcan.
The survey lias Just been completed
by Ira Hartwcll, who Is well up In
railroad construction. Constructive
work will begin in the spring, It Is said.
