Epfclal to tin Scranton Tribune.
Hnwley, Jan. 1. The old Hnwley
Methodist Kplscopul ehuich which has
been a lundmark and such a blessing
to this place for over fifty years, wns
fominlly redodlcnted Sunday. The ex
tensive repairs nnd iilteiationa which
have been going on for the past two
nnd a half months have chunged the
old landmark fiom Its turtle appear
uuce to n beautiful modem twentieth
century structure, second to none In
the HoncHdalo dlstiict. The untlrlnff
eltorts of the. hustling pastor, the Itev.
H. C. Slmpklns. w'th the henry co-oper-ntlon
of the olllclal board, and congre
gation bi ought nbout this change in
so quiet and satisfactory a manner as
to appear seemingly by magic. When
It was nnnounced nt the morning sor- '
vice that the full debt was provided for
Jt certulnly was u pleasing surprise
as the tliiio-stnlned custom of building
a church nnd paying for It by eloquent
nppenls fimn. high otllclals was nban
tlonod. The llev. J. T. Winner, pie.
siding elder1, pieslded at both moinlng
nnd evening services. He was assisted
by the pastor and the venerable Bev.
.T. V. Newell, a former pastor: ltev.
J. 1'. Crane, of thu Piesbyterlan, and
the llev. C. M. Mlnoh, of Chester, Pa.,
foimer pastor of the Baptist ehuich.
The elder delivered two masterly sot
mons to veiy large and Interested nu
illences, but the climax was reached
when tlio Keystone double quartette,
of Peckvllle, Pa., composed of the
Messis. G. 13. Shay, director; H. A. nnd
Wllllnm Fienr, Thomus Llewellyn,
James Cownns, John TItlcy, Stanley
F.ynns, Mellaril Carvolth nnd K. Llew
elryn, organist. This quaitette's par
ticipation was due principally to their
friendship townid their former pastor,
the Itev. Mr, Slmpklns. They gave a
delightful song service prior to the
evening sermon, their chords und pa
thos was beautiful nnd their songs
seemed to stir the souls of the audience
nnd lift them up and heaven seemed to
open with reciprocated praise. The
rogulnr choir also rondoied some veiy
beautiful anthems nnd on a whole the
complete exciclses was a success fiom
even standpoint.
The olllclal board deslies to give a
public vote of thanks to the Keystone
quartette and all other participants In
this completely successful programme.

A SOUR STOMACH
Is Often tho Real Cause of a Sour
Tompor.
That the condition of the dlgcstlvo
organs has a marked effect upon the
character or disposition Is a truUm na
old ns the hills. Old Ben Johnson
wisely Fald "tho pleasure of living de
pends upon tho liver" nnd It la n. fact
which none mny dispute that a sunny
disposition more often results from
n healthy digestion than from any
other cause.
Acid dyspepsia, commonly called
sour stomnch or heartburn, Is caused
by slow digestion of food: Instead of
being piomptly digested and converted
Into blood, bono nnd muscle, It lies In
the stomach for hours, fermenting nnd
decaying, creating gases which cause
piessuio on the lungs nnd heart, shoit
bicnth and general dlscomfott nnd Ir
l ltatlon.
Such hnlf digested food Is Indent
poor nourishment for the body, brain
and nerves nnd the result Is shown
lit lirltable tempers, unnccountablu
headaches and that depiesslng condi
tion called tho "blues" but how quick
ly all these disappear when nppctlto
nnd dlgsetlon niu lestoied.
Laxative medicines only lnltate the
already Irritated stomach and bowels
nnd have no effect upon nrtunl diges
tion of food.
The sensible touise to follow Is to
make uo of simple natuial digestive
like Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets after
meals until the stomach has u chance
to recuperate.
The natural digestives which every
healthy stomach contains uie pop
tones, diastase nnd Hydiochlotic and
lactic acids, nnd when any of them
nre laclnkg the trouble begins; the
icason Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets nre
so valuable and successful In curing
stomach troubles Is because they con
tain, In a pleasant concentrated tablet
form till these absolutely necessary
essentials for perfect digestion and as
similation of food.
Heniy Klikpntilck, of Lnwionce,
Miisf., sajs: "Men and women whoo
occupation precludes an active out
door life should make It a dally practice-
to use Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets
nfter ineiil, 1 have done so myelf and
I know positively that I owe my pies
cut health and vigor to their daily
use.
"Fiom the time I was 2J, when T
Kudiiatod fiom school with broken
health fiom overwoik. until 1 was '!1,
I scarcely knew what It was to 1
free fiom stomach weakness; I hill
no appetite whatever for breakfast
and eiy little for any other meal.
1 hud acidity and henrlbuin ucnrly
every da and xonietlmes w.is al.umed
by Iricgularlty nnd palpitation of the
heart, but all this giadually dtsap
pouud nttr I began using Stuart'
Dyspepsia Tablets and I can eat my
meals with lellsh nnd atlfactlon
which T hud not known since I was a
glowing boy "
The mcess and populailty of Stu
