ivhlnh Is to be held her Tuesday night,
has now been deposited with thu Trib
une ttnd the $175 balance, which nmhoH
up each man's $200 shin bet wilt be
deposited Monday or Tuesday, Mr.
Leonard sent on his money yester
day from Newnrk, N. J. He reports
himself to be In splendid condition
snd declnres that he will rIvc u. soml
iirKiunent to Dwyor at the Hlcyolo
club, on the ovenhiR of the match.
Dwycr Is In excellent trim, and ex
pecting a hard nlitlit'tt work Is pre
paring himself for It. Many think thnt
Leonard will make a inoro fornildablo
itntnprontst than riehle. Jte If a witt
ier of the same style ns Uwyor. imd
not depending on mere iittength ns
much as Oehle, he, uses head work
and the tricks of lliV trade, through
out every match.
An excellent football frame Is this
afternoon promised local enthusiasts
in the meeting of the Sci anion and
HlnKhnnUon IIIbIi schools. The rivalry
between these elevens Is Intense, u.-t
they have met for several consecutive
years and the results have been prac
tically oven. In this afternoon's game
A'uuBhnn and Powell will probably bo
nt the local team's ends, Eynon or
Van Ciorder and heard working Welss
enflusli at tackles and Klwood and
Stone at guards. Hluilt:: will play cen
ter nnd O'Hellly will bo at quarter
back. The Ulnghamton men bring
also a fast playing team on the de
fense, but with 'Willlnuiu and Captain
Tropp in the buck-field Scranton ex
pects to score at least once, nnd with
one "BrlcUy" Phillips nt full back the
Ilne-up Is complete. The Ulnghamton
boys will nriive on the 32:2S train and
will be met at the station by a dele
gation of High school lads.
The St. Thomas .eleven will this
afternoon journey to Berwick and
meet that city's strong eleven.
I,nune T. Kites, of this city, who
in 1893 wore the blue stockings ot the
Yale 'varsity und was known as one
of the fastest half-backs on the col
lege gridiron, was nt N' Haven dur
ing the greater part of the week, as
sisting the Ell coaches in di tiling their
men for this afternoon's haul gama
with tile noble red men from Carlisle.
Uliss took especial care of the half
backs and tried to instil into their
craniums home end tunning devises
which will bring sorrow to the hearts
of the poor Los this afternoon.
The giant Puquesne Country and
Athletic club team, of Pittsburg, has
mot defeat. In spite of its galaxy of
wonderful players, it went d n be
fore the Homestead eleven. Charlie
Ciclbert and Jack Hedges played the
Duquesne ends and played them well,
and Pierson, Uppenhelmer, Jackson,
Pratt, and the other great player.? of
the team did splendid work, but t,.mo'i
some of the players on the op
posing team were Fultz and Gam
mons, the ox-Riown half backs,
Pete Overfiold, the great Unlv
vorslty of Pennsylvania center, and
others of the Invinclbles, and the
Piltsburgors were downed. Every
man in the game was a star, and on
file side-lines stood subs who would
be most sought after acquisitions on
most college elevens. Slioch and "Kid"
Young, of Cornell, were two of the
brawny lads who acted as under-j-tudies.
The Dickinson eleven, which will this
afternoon meet the University of Sy
racuse, passed through the city yes
teiday afternoon, en route to Syra
cuse. The husky youths from Carlisle
were met at l he Delaware and Hudson
station by Attorneys AV. D, Boyer,
". M. Curry and C. E. Daniels, who
aie alumni of the Dickinson Law
.school, and were escorted to the
Lackawanna Valley Huuw, where
they dined. Fifteen players, accom
panied by Physical Director Cr.iver,
made up the party.
The captains of the big elevens have
been meeting with disaster uf late.
Captain Hare, of Pennsylvania, one of
thu greatest and stiongest players who
ever booted the oval over a gridiron,
only loft the hospital u day ur two ago,
and Captain Daly, Hnrvuid's plucky
little quarter back general, was ear
lied from the tleld in the early part
nf last week so seriously Injured In
practice that the Crimson looters wore
given n teirlble flight lest the team
be deprived of his services during the
remainder of the season,
Joe Wulentt, through his manager,
Tom O'ltmirko, has been trying to ar
lange a match with Turn Sharkey, for
two weeks, but Is now giving up In
despair and will withdraw thu Jl'.ShO

Handsome Tailor Made Suits
At a Great Reduction.
We've just received
$2
to $$c0 each, bought from
business, at a big reduction.
They're yours at the same rate.
This announcement is one usually looked for at about the
end of the season. At the beginning, notices of such a nature
are rare--extremely rare regarding such handsome, high
class costumes as this lot contains. If we had bought the
suits a week ago in the regular way, you would have had to
pay the full price. Now you may select from a splendid
showing and save not less than $7and from that up to $1$'
on every suit,
intend to buy.
