ltery to arbitrate the existing1 differ
ences between tho men and the com
pany, met Superintendent Neale ut an
adjourned meeting Satin day evening
nnd accepted a schedule of wages
which was submitted by the company,
the contents of which the ofllclals do
not care to make public until It is sub
mitted to tho employes for considera
tion. A meeting of the Jit. Pleasant em
ployes will accordingly bo held at 7
o'clock this evening In Co-operative
hnJI, North Jlnln avenue, for the pur
pose of accepting or rejecting the
schedule submitted by the company.
If the company's proposals are ratified,
the strike will be declared off, and tho
men will return to work. If tho sched
ule Is rejected the mines will be oper
ated by new hands.

In the case of Jliss Phoebe Shafer,
of North Scranton, charged with theft,
a verdict ot not guilty was returned
nnd the costs placed on the county.
Court Saturday dPected Charles
Lowery. of North Scranton, to pay $20
per month for the support of his wife,
Nelllo Lowery. This Is the conclusion
of the case in which she charged him
v 1th non-support. II. B. Frank was
directed to pay his wile $10 a week.
