The Wnite Company, Walte's Stock company, always a favorite In this city, was greeted by an enormous house last night, when "Tho Orphans of New York" was pre sented. Wood was cast for the part of Pe'ry Atwood. The role was a juvenile one and did not give Mr. Wood full scope for his powers, but he, never theless, made a good sized hit with the audience. H. W. Fenwick as Floyd Gladbrook, the polished villain, and Walvln Woods as Hiram Maywood, the unvarnished blackguard, enacted the parts well, Mr. Fenwick coming In for a goodly share of hisses from the more emotional of the audience.
