DEATH OF JOHN CASEY.
At 8 o'clock yesterday morning, John
J. Casey, of tho South Side, succumbed
to pulmonary trouble. He was born
here thirty-tlvc years ngo and had al
ways lived In Caibondale. He was a
member of St. Hose church and of Car
bondalo Conclave of Heptnsophs. He
Is (survived bv a wife, live chlldicn,
three sisters nnd four brotheis. The
f uncial nirangements are Incomplete.

The remains of the late Frank Duffy,
tho 17-year-old son of Hurgess and
Mrs. Duffy, of Mayfleld, were Interred
In St. Roso cemetery, Carbondale, yes
terday afternoon. They were followed
to the graveside by a long procession
of hoi lowing fi lends. It will be re
membered that the deceased, who en
listed In the United States volunteer
Infantry, was drowned while bathing
on July 3, 1S99, at Plnar del Rio, Cuba.
