Daring Burglary Committed nt an
Early Hour Yesterday Morning.
Revival Services at the X. E,
Church Pet sonals.
A dailny burglary was committed at
the homo of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas
Glazier, on Second street, at 2 o'clock
yesterday morning. At the hour men
tioned, Mrs. Glazier was nroused from
her Bleep by an unusual noise nnd, be
coming alarmed, site awoke her hus
band, telling him some one was walk
ing around the house. The husband
was not thoroughly aw tike and paid
little attention to his life's fears for
a few moment, but at last hearing the
back door shut, he arose and at otica
saw that someone had been in the
room. Investigation soon showed that
the burglar had carried away a box
containing JJD.GO, two gold watches,
half a dozen silver knles and folks,
nnd half u dozen silver teaspoons. The
silverware, watches and money were in
a box which had been placed under
neath some children's clothing In a
chest of drawers in the room In which
they slept downstairs. Kntrance to the
house had been obtained through a.
pantiy window at the rear and the un
bidden visitor departed thiough the
back dooi. Mr. Glazier at once dressed
and went In search of Chief of Police
McCllnley, whom ho found on Main
stteet, acquainting the otllcer with the
robbery. The chief accompanied him
back to the house and made an Inves
tigation. The footprints of the burglar
was plainly distinguishable In the snow
and the chief followed them for some
distance, but the snow was falling then
and the fresh snow llnally obllteiated
the tracks, and the Investigation along
that line had to be given up. It Is the
general opinion that the robbeiy was
committed by someoin familiar with
the house nnd knew the money was
secreted theie. Mr. Glazier conducts a
small shoe store and shoe tepalilng
business on Main street, nnd the monev
was to pay some bills he expected to
meet this week. He is u hard-working,
Industilous man and Is neatly dls
tt acted at the loss, which, ho say's. wilt
about liiln him. On every hand ex
pressions of sympathy are heaid for
him, and it Is hoped that the author
ities will be successful in bilnging the
guilty one to justice.

D. Kleldei's lomantic military drama,
"Shannon of the Sixth," will bo seen at
the Academy of Music the last half of
this week. Matinees will be given Fil
day and Saturday. It is a picturesque
play ot life in India during the Sepoy
rebellion og 157, nnd the author has
drawn his Inspiration fiom nctual oc
currences of those stirring times.
There ate a number of other stiong
ly outlined chaiacters. A Utnhmln
pricht, Ham Kootah, stands out boldly
against the background of mystery,
which dominates the play. His con
nection with the plot Is Important and
ns It Is unfolded, the mysterious In
fluence of occult science is skillfully
shown. Umbollo, "The Dumb Man of
Allahabad," Is another striking piece
of chat octet b.atlon and shows tho
touch of a master hand. One of tho
feitures of the production Is the mag
nificent scenery carried by the com
pnny. W. II. Power Is repeating his
successful impei sonation of the lead

has the support of n strong cotps of

take the Interest from the plot of the

at tanged and carried out.
The character types aie splendidly
drawn. They are not icady made men
and women, but develop as the storv
proceeds. The company is well bal
