Michael Finn, the owner of farm lands In South Ablngton, adjoining the "Mud Pond," or Summit Lake supply reservoir of the Providence Oas and Water company, was before Alder man JUors yesterday afternoon, charged with felonious shooting with Intent to kill. He was arrested by Constable Davis upon r. warrant sworn out by John H. Miller, nn employe of tho Wntor company, who with anoth er workman was engaged clearing awnv debris from the htul of the res- 1 crvolr. The shooting was done on Tues day morning, and Finn claimed the men were trespassing upon his land. The witnesses In the caso wore. John Miller, Cyrus Newman and Ed ward Reed, all of whom testified that Finn had shot nt Miller and Newman four times, three of th- : hots being fired after the men hid started awav from the place viher.j they wero at work and were runnliu to get away from tho man with the gun. THE JEHU DOG CASE. Tho case of Thomas Richards against Thomas Jehu, the Wayne ave nue grocer, charging trespass, nnd growing out of the biting of tho for mer's little daughter, Ethel, by a largo dog belonging to the latter, was up before Alderman Myers yesterday af ternoon. Testimony In the case was given by Mr. Richards, Dr. Bower, Edith Morgan, Officer Palmer, Dr. Dunne, Mr. Jehu and Jcyse Morris. Dr. Bower, who attended the child, testified to the Injury sustained, and Edith Morgan gave evidence to th" matter of the dog jumping upon -ind biting the Richards girl, with whom she was on the way to school. Dr. Dunne appeared In behalf of the defendant and testified to examining the child during the day.and that while the wound may have been caused bv other means, It could nlso have been the result of a dog's bite. Tho pur pose of hli evidence was to show that some other means hnd been employed to caus? the wound. Mr. Jehu claim ed his dog only had two teeth, but finally admitted the,dog had bitten the little girl.
