New York, June 23. Tho opening was
strong especially in New York Central

turn. Tho Vunderbllts were strong nnd
advanced upon the supposition that the
dividend would be increased to a 6 per
cent basis on New York Central; how
ever, when tho announcement of tho reg
ular 1 per cent dividend was made, tho
stock bold off. Wo arc bulls on alt tho

recommend this stock to conservative op

bought by strong parties and there is

Thcro un continued rumors on Wall
street ot decided advances In railroad
stocks nnd of tho he a lest Investors and
speculators being about ready to tako
hold of them for a good round turn.
All through tho spring we ad vised the
purchase of industrials which made large
advances but the time now looks rlpo
to pay attention to the railroad securi
ties whit h are making large profits and
likely to pay Increased dividends. Wo
ngaln call particular attention to the
Pennsylvania railroad stock, which wo
bcllio Is selling at n lower price com
paratively than at y other road on tho
list. Purchases around present price will
lipid handsome profits.
The market rlosed strong nt nearly
best prices of the day. Wheat had hut
liV'e feature selling off slightly. Wo
believe It la a good purchase on all
breaks for a substantial advance.
