THE MARKETS.
Wnll Street Review.
By Carrlngton & Cusnek,
New York, Juno 16. The Btock market
opened dull nnd was featureless, Sugar
aduuclng 2 per cent, subsequently losing
part. There was somu selling of Grang
els In early morning on bad crop outlook
and tho Chicago and Mr, Kecno's brokers
were credited with being moderate, scll
rH of the list. Tho market continued
dull and almost featureless throughout
tho day. Coal stocks being particularly
strong features, being bought on lnsldo
icpoits of a better understanding In tho
trade, nnd also on tho fact that Mr.
Morgan Is again at his olllcc, but what
this has to do with tho values of Dela
ware and Hudson or Ontario und West
ern wo fall to see.
There was no news at any moment to
affect prices nnd trading was almost en
tirely confined to thn room who aro con
siderably mljied. Flower brokers wero
credited with being moderate purchasers
of the specialties and Mr. Housman of
tho conleis. We seo no reason to chango
our opinion that tho market Is a trading
ore to bo purchased when weak anil
sold when stiong. taking moderate profits
for tlmo being. Tho street Is filled with
bull points on BrookHn Rapid Transit
nnd the Flower stocks generally, but
tho market movemnt up to the present
docs not liu'lcnto that then- aro being
backed very henlly. Tho closo was lr
regular and dull.
