The Webster Literary nnd Debating
society met last evening at tho home of

The society Is rapidly growing In
popularity and the snembers are very
enthusiastic over the society's revival.

may lose tho sight of his right eye as
the result of being struck therein by
a stone thrown nt him by a playmate
yesterday. The eye ball was so swol
len from the effects of the blow that
only a cursory examination could bo
mnde by the attending physician.

opposing side threw u stone from a
"sling shot" nnd It struck Cafferty,
with the above result.
BRIDGE FELL IN.
Thomas Webster, of Wayne avenue,
who Is employed by Tenner & Dicker
son, was delivering goods to customers
of that Arm on Thompson street yes
terday afternoon, and in driving over
a gutter which ran across the stieet,
wns thrown from the wagon and pain
fully Injured.
His light arm was seveiely sprained
and he was biulsed and shaken by
the fall. The accident was caused by
tlif giving awuy of the boards which
formed u bridge across the gutter.

TO GIVE A BANQUET.
The Fourteen Friends met in regular
session at Hotel Best Thursday night.
The meeting was specially Interesting
from the fact that was discussed at
length, the piospects of the club giving
a banquet this season. The discussion
was conducted with a dcisIon that the
mutter be left to the discretion of the
standing committee on entertainment,
with the pioviso that the committee
make a report at a meeting to be held
a week lrom tonight, and for the pur
pose of listening to the conclusion ar
rived at by that body.
If the entertainment committee of the
Fi lends w 111 b" guided by the w Ishes of
the two hundred fortunate guests pres
ent at the banquet of the club a year
ago, it will be unanimously decided to
give another such affair this season.
Tho banquet nnd dance of last year
was the event In the history of the
society.
