Fmadise Alley Tonight.
No play of recent yeais has had o
niuih of genuine interest to the puhlio
ns Denmati Thompson's "The Sunshlno
of Pniadlso Allej," which Is now In Its
thlid year of success, anil whlth comes
to the Lyceum this evening for a re
turn date. Its Interest Is bioad In its
scope, and the touches of pathos, bits
of comedy, and teallsm, make it an
enteitainment well worth seeing by
everjbody, old und young. The kej
note to its success Is in the fact that
It pictures real people, real life, and n
leal state of affalts to bo found any
where on the great East Side of the
metropolis near the docks. It it be tho
highest achievement ot the playwright
to "show virtue her own feature ilnd
scoin her ow n Image," then Mr. Thomp
son has been successful beyond his
tondest expectations In his "pictures of
New York life." The sceneiy Is en
tiiely new this season. The famous
Boston Verdi Ladles' qunrtette, with
out whom "Sunshine" would hardlv
look herself, will have some new mel
odies. A Mysterious Cabinet.
Magician Kellar likes to fool the
mediums. He delights in mjstlfylng
them. He has constructed a mlnlnture
spirit cabinet, about large enough to
contain a kitten, and this he places
upon a suspended sheet of window
glass. Then he stores It with tiny fur
nltuie, slates, tambourines, cauls, etc,
and pioduces all the so-called manifes
tations that mediums accredit to super
natural power. This Is but one item
on a long programme of magic and Illu
sions to bo presented by Kellar here,
at the Lceuni theatre, Satuitlay even
ing, March 11.
