John Bothmann, of South Scranton, tiled

was best nnd populaily known, was a

Scranton direct from his native pluce,
Copenhagen, Dcrmark, where ho wns
born sixty-eight cars ago. For the last
fourteen years the deceased was emploed

ton. His wife dlid many cars ago at
Copenhagen nnd his home In America
was with Thomas H. Spruks of f12 Pros,
ppet avenue, ono of his einplnvers. Mr.
Bothmann was a, mat of n retiring dispo
sition, nnd did not manifest any gicat In
terest in worldly affairs outsldo his work
and his chuieli He was a member of

Mrs. James Ferguson died nt her home
on Church sticet, Arcbbald, at ".SO o'clock
last evening. She had hi en idling lor
several months The deceased had lived
in Aichbald nearly forty ye .us und she
was among thu most respected lesidents
of that place. She Is survived by four
children. These are Miss Kntio Ferguson,

This evening the ladles of the Piovi
dence Presbyterian church open their
annual fair and festival. Fite hand
somely decoiated booths, kindly loaned
by the Messrs. Jonas Long's fcions, will
be loaded with Christmas goods and
home-made candy. One room will be de
voted to nn ice cream parlor. Dinners
will be seived from B o'clock. Law
