BURIED YESTERDAY.
The funeral of tho late Mi". Keating
was held from her late honi" on Pilco
street yesterday afternoon. The large
toncourso of grieved friends moved
from the house at three o'clock and
proceeded to St. Ilose'a church, where
a short ritualistic; service wai solem
nized. The remains were then taken
to St. Rose's cemetery, where they
were Interred. Many floral offerings
adorned the coffin of tho deceased. A
large number of out of town relatives
attended tho funeral.
LOST HIS COAT.
Attorney R. L Stuart, of this city,
fell Into a den of thieves nt Scranton,
or at least his lmt nnd coat were
stolen from the court house Thursday
morning. In place of Mr. Stuart's hat,
a, derby of antique stylo nnd some
what battered was found. Prothono
tary Copeland kindly lent the embar
rassed attorney a chapeau. so that Mr.
Stuart reached this city without con
tracting any serious cold.

was attired In a dresa of burnt orange

tor, Dr H. It Palmer, of Philadelphia,
wns the conductor this cur, and met
with much success, having an average

ance Mrs Fiank A. Baker, of Nichol
son, was the pianist, and ngain demon
stiated her ability as master of the In
stalment. Mls Susan Black, solo so
piano, of the Second Presbyterian
chinch, of Scranton, was the soloist for
the conceit work, and captivated the
audience with her sympathy, Intonation
and brilliancy. The choir and quai
tette contests weio much enjoved by
the audience, and weie entered into
with much enthusiasm by the paitlcl
pants. The piizo for the best male
quartette was awauled to Waverly.
The prize In tho contest of ladles' voices
was awarded to Tactoryvllle choir,
under tho leadership of XV. N. Man
chester. The other two contesting
choirs were fiom Fleetville and Nichol
son, under the directorship ot Prof. A.
L Thaver and Prof. Shields, lespect
Ively, The adjudicators were XV. E
Hobbs. ricetvllle; F A. Baker, Nichol
son, and Charles Gardner, of Factory-
llle. Last evening's concert was a
htllUant affali, and was fully up to tho
expectations of the association. All
who took rart In It carried out their
work to perfection, nnd were encored
by an appreciative nudlence.
