The home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mc
Millan was the scene of a most pdeasaut
gathering on Thursday evening;. A representative-
number of the employes of
No. 13 shaft, where Mr. McMillan is
foreman, conceived the happy Idea of
presenting him with a beautiful gold
headed cane prior to his departure on
n visit to his native, land. Tho affair
was a complete surprise to Mr. and Mrs.
McMillan. However, the Intruders had
their own way and an enjoyable evening
was spent, Mr. McMillon expressed his
gratitude In a few well chosen remarks
lifter which a bountiful repast was
served. Mr. and Mrs. McMillnn will

phy, a cousin, was seriously hurt. They
