London bought .nearly 10.UW shares of stocks. St. Paul and Louisville and Nashville figurine most prominently in the dealings. The early rise was equal to 44alVt per rent., the industrials. Grangers and Internation als leading. The buying power, how ever, waa soon exhausted and a period of dullness followed. In the afternoon trading the market was more active and prices declined throughout the list. The selling was partly based on reports of an Anglo-Huselain dispute over ter ritory in Che Foo and partly to the failure of the leading Republican can didate for the presidential nomination to announce his position on the cur rency. It may be added that the pro fessional beam are taking full advan tage of the latter to bring about liquida tions. Vp to dute they have not been very successful. The decline in prices during; the afternoon ranged from lt to 2H per cent., Manhattan leading. This stock was sold on reports that ths forthcoming quarterly statement will be unfavorable.
