Mr. Banders' talk rang with tine phrases and was ef fectively eloquent. After and during the entertainment, refreshments were served and cigars lent their quota of pleasure. THE CLOSING DANCE. The dancing class taught by Miss M. Belle Doud gave a closing social at St. David's hall last evening. The class Is composed of young people represent ing prominent families on the West Side. The season has been a most de lightful one. Last evening the ball was decorated with the America'.! col ors and the general appearance was beautiful. McCarthy died at 10.25 o'cl )-k yesterday morning at her home, ' 2034 Washburn street. The deceased had suffered a lingering sickness dur ing a period of several years. She was born on Oct. 20, 1S51, at Mast Hope, Orange county, New York. She, with her husband, has resided on the West -' Bide for many years. Her death is re gretted by a large circle of friends. The survivors are Mr. McCarthy, Ed ward J., C. W. Jr., J. F., Thaddeus J., , William J., Justin, Bert, Eleanors and Annie. The funeral will be held on Monday morning at 9.30 o'clock'.
