The Injuries of G ?onre were much
more severe, as ho stood directly in
front of the place when the explowlon
occurred, and thus received Its full
force. He was taken to the hospital,
but Inter decided to ko to Philadelphia
and have his eyes treated as it was
feared that he would lose the slpht. On
the way to the train, however, he be
came so weak that he was unable to ko
further and was taken to his home.
Here his eye has become worse, and
bctran to run. and it is feared that it
will effect the other. Dr. Hnlley was
in Scranton yesterday, where he se
cured nn oculist, and an operation will
be performed soon and the eye re
moved. This Is done in order to save the
other If possible, nnd every effort to
preserve its slpht is belriK made, it is
rot probable that anything can be
done, and the man will be obliged to

all his sufferings with the Kreatest for
titude, despite the terrible pnin lie
suffers. At one time It was tlioupht
that his arm would have to be am
putated, but this has been saved
through great care.
