OUR FIRE ALARM SYSTEM.
Complaints About the Difficulty of Send
ing in Alarms.
Numerous complaints have recently
been made to the chief of the tiro de
partment concerning the key service In
connection with fire alarm boxes. It is
claimed that in many Instances, parti
cularly nt night, and In the business
districts, too, alarms are carried to the
fire company houses or sent in by tele
phone before the alarm is sent from u
box.
This state of things has for some
time received the consideration of lire
department ofliolals alnd It Is probable
Hiatal new stylo of box will be consid
ered nnd possibly adopted at least In
the mercantile district. Some weeks
ago Chief Ferber conceived the Idea of
having posted near each box tin Inde
structible board made of Iron and con
taining the location of keys. These
were to supplant the present uintlquated
tin signs.
Later, however, It wus decided that
the new key notices would not offset the
difllcully In some instances In securing
keys, and then the lire department olll
clals conceived the probability of
ndopting a new style of box for the
business district and which can be oper
ated without the use of a key. Mean
while the matter Is resting and It Is
not likely that anything tangible will
come of It until available means of ap
propilatlon Is found.

A TRIBUTE OF SCIENCE
Synopsis of a Most Remarkable Lecture
Delivered llcforc the Ninth Medical Con
gress, by Dr. A. L. A. Toboldt, of the
1'nlverslty of Pennsylvania.
"The famous fountain of health at
Cailsbad, in Bohemia, which has been
the refuge of Invalids for Ave centuries,
is certainly well worthy of a careful
study. My experience with this rem
edial agent has been such that I may
truly say that no remedy which I ever
employed has given me so much pleas
ure and profit us this particular one-.
Selecting a number of chronic hypo
chondriacs whose afflictions have
ballled all my previous efforts as my
subjects, I was truly UBtonlshed to note
that, although no rigid diet was pre
scribed, and only a limited amount of
exercise was Indulged In, I obtained
most remarkable results the complex
Ion, even after a week's use, began to
clear up, the step became more firm and
elustlc) and, what was more, the en
tire host of hypochondriacal compluint9
seemed to vanish like mist."

about So font in length, head aud all. 1 have.
It in a bottle and auy porsou wishing to see
it ran do so by calling at my store. I had'
tried numerous other remedies recommended
for taking tapeworms, but all failed. In my
estimation Dr. Caiuipbell's is the greatest
