Bath, N. Y., Jan. 29. In January,
1835, Lovinii Inner-wood, then a girl of
H, swallowed a needle, Evor since then
the needle has been journeying to and

self felt under her left knee, and came
so near tho surface that everyone
though it would work Us way out, but
It did not. It turned und sturted on a
new trip.
Several years passed before it was
felt again. In the meantime the girl
had become .Mrs. Durham. Then it
was felt under the left shoulder blade.
Two years later Mrs. Durham felt it
near her right elbow. Four years af

to cut It out, but It got uway. So !t

According to a member of the "minor
ity stockholders' committee" of the Phila
delphia and Erie Railroad company the
next move In tlu-lr campaign uiiiilnst the
management will be an utti-mpt to secure
certain Information they are seeking by
mandamus proceedings. The ipiestlous ut
Issue refer chiefly to the division of
through freight receipts between Phila
delphia and Kile and the lessee of the
road, the Pennsylvania Rallroud com
puny. It Is reported that the Wllkes-Ilarre
and Eastern Railroad company has made
contract with anthracite coal miners In
the Wyoming region that will insure it a
tonnage of l.ow.uou ton per annum. This
will nearly double the previous coal ton
nage of the New York, Susquehunne und

sea of wuter which Is contained In the

one of the contractors who pushed the

that one of the stipulations made by the
prosecutors In the case before the settllmr
wus that the water should be drawn off
gradually so tint t the creeks nnd fishing
streams shall not bn polluted any more
than is necessary. It is estimated that It
will take three months to dear the mines

TO our
Washhtirn-Crosby Co. winb to assure their many pat
rons that tlicy will this vcur hold to their usual custom
of milling STRICTLY OLD WHEAT until the new crop
is fully cured. New wheut is now upon the market, and
owing to the excessively dry weather many millers are
of .the opinion that it is already cured, and in proper
condition for milling. Washburn-Crosby Co. will take
no risks, and will allow the new wheat fully threo
months to mature before grinding.
This careful attention to every detail of milling has
placed Washburn-Crosby Co.'s "flour far above other
brands.
