present. There are two rooms, and

The evening was devoted to garni t',
music and speevh making. The lvorltes
quartette, consisting of David Owen,
Will Keynolds, Emerson Owen and Wal
ter Jones, rendered several plantation
melodies. Emerson Owen recited his
latest production, entitled "The Mur
derer." The piece- Is u soliloquy of the
murderer In his cell, and It wus ren
dered in a realistic manner. Solos were
rendered by Professor William Kvans,
Morris Thomas and Philip Warren.
The members also sang, uccompanled
by Llewellyn Jones on the pluuo. ,
Speeches on the lodge, Its work und
the nuture of the meeting were given by

Illness of typhoid fever. Mr. Powell

the Golden Kugle, of Wllllumsport;

death Is a sudden shock to a large num

progressive citizen.
He was singled out by his fellow citi

preferment. He was Justice of the

eurs, and served two terms us school
director. His widow and seven chil

bert K., John, Rachel, Jessie, Alice and
Willie, survive him. The funeral will
