Prince which promises to be a speedy
horse. Dr. Hand bas a colt whicu also
gives promise of remarkakle feats.
Ell Ager has u line stable.. His best

Almout. Another horse which he is
very proud of is a 3-yeat-jld by Maui
brino King, dam, liiiea, by Sultan.
It is a 'Vrand individual and carries a
mark of 2 40. Ha has a 2-year-old out

that in the matter of good hors' fleh,
Scranton compares favorably with any
other city of its size in this part of the
country.

on the Delaware, Lackawanna and

creased to an alarming extent. Tho
youths generally board the train above
the Laokawanun avenue crossing and

to Gill tor the annual sum of $210. oi

When the house w is let tho landlord
had a dog upon the premises with
which the defendant was qui to charmed
and besought Costello to leave it at the
old hoini. After a couple of mouths
Gill wrote Costello that ho was no
longer enamored of the canine. There
upon the dog was removed aud follow
ing this came a suit against Costello for
two mouths boarding of doggie. Al
doruiau Bailey fixed so' as the price of
the two months board.
Costello then appealed. All this was
apparently waded through yesterday
and the alderman gave ju Igemeut for
i10 and costs in the main action. No
lice of appeal was given.

Maria Tlghe, aged 21 years, danchter
of William Tighe, of Dun more, strayed
a way irom borne Saturday night and

np to last reports had not been heard
from by her anxious friends. She had
only recently recovered from a serious
illness which affected her head and it
is thought she may be demsnted.
She is described as an undersized girl
with close cut black hair and wearing
a dark brown skirt, white waist, sailor
hat and black slippers. The police
have been notified and are nuking a
diligent search for her.

The mortality report for last week
reveals twenty-seven deaths within the
city, a decreane of nine deaths from the
week preceding.
Of contagious diseases during the
week there were two from typhoid
fever, two from consumption aud one
reported case of scarlet fever. Throe
cases of scarlet fever and one caso of
diptheria were reported yesterday,
