about 4 j years. The bov's condition is
very serious, but Dr. Moylan, the at

covery. Mr, Miller was cleaning tho weapon
at the time. He supposed it was
empty, and snapped th trigger. The
cartridge exploded, ami the ball en
txred his son's body betweeu the thigh
and nb lomen,
Mr. Miller is shocked and greatly
unnerved by the unfortunate uccident.

amount of a tire policy nn a store in
Dunmore, and which was burned on
Nov. 21, 1S91. Tbo case had not been
completed when court adjourned for

Tha carrier pigeou fly which took
place in this city last Saturday under
the auspices of the Grassy Island Pigeon
olub of Olyphant, was a highly sue
Oeasfnl event. The birds wers rs
leased from the new Delaware and
Hudson station on Laokawanna avenue
and II iw straight as an arrow to tiieir
destination at Grassy Idanit, a dis
tance of seven miles und one quarter.
Tne pigsou owned by Joun Tyson
won first prise I y making the fly in I)
minutes nnd u5 seconds. Kite Pleroe's
bird was only seven seconds slower,
and the bird entered by William Gir
diuer, the club's courteous s-cretary,
lauded in (J minutes und oo seoonds.

ing aud tbo time made exceptional.
The next fly will be from Carbondale
to Grassy Island on July 4.
