SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING.
Held Last Evening But Little Business
Accomplished.

Pittston, Pa.. May 4. The special
session of tli towu council at the Hook
aud Ladder company's parlor on
Charles street was attended by all
members except Knowles and Heap.
The board of health OBked for an ap
propriation of $860.00. the amouut they
claim necessary for salaries and Inci
dental expense for the current year.
As tbere was but one member of the
board of health present, Alex Sloan,
and he eould not toll the different ex
penses which would be incurred, action
was deferred until the next meeting,
wiiich will be hold on Mouday evening
at the newly renovated oounoil cham
