nual meeting of Ibe Ladies' Aid society
of tho Presbyterian church held yester
day afternoon, the president of the
society, Mrs. A. D. Blaoklnton, gave a
reception to all members and friends of
the church, and which proved a wond
erful both in attendance nnd onj y
meut. In the afternoon a bn-ines
meeting '.vis held and a cordial invita
tion being extended to all the gentle
men friends f r the evening. A large
and entliti'iastii: gathering was
tiio result. Th prosperity that
this well known and important church
factor enjoys is shown by the gratify
ing yearly report that Was rem). After
paying all expenses the SOOist? has en
riched the church financially to tl.e
amount of $1,1)50 for the past vear, all
of whieh was raised bv the ladies' per
sonal efforts. Combining this with the
amount formerly paid in to the trustees

Goodrich, one of the pioneers of this
locality, died at the home of his daugh
ter, Mrs. O. Wheeler this morning be
tween the hours of of 5 and G o'clook,
of pneumonia, after an illness of ten
days, at the age of 73 years. Forty -one
years ago Mr. Goodrich moved from
Greenfield to a place about three miles
west of hero and cleared what is w-dl
known ns the Goodrich farm. Five
years ago Mr. Goodrich moved from
lliu farm and bus since resided in this
borough, retiring from active work. He
is survived by n wifo and eight children,
namely: Mrs, O Wheeler, Mrs. James
Shlly, Mrs. M. Haley, Mrs. Lewis
Rndler, Howard Goodrich and Cuaun
cey Goodrich, of Forest City, and Mrs.
R da rt Roe and Mrs. J. Mulderiek, of
