of Eyuon street, was taken to the county
jail on Tuesdny evening in default of
lull on a charge of assault and battery,
preferred by Titus Evans. The case
was heard in the court of Alderman T.

a cross suit against Evms and one

Shaw. The testimony showed that
Mrs. Shaw was in 1M7 a wilow named
Goodwin On Oct 3 of that year she
was married at Binghamton to Mr.
Shaw Shaw never supported his wife
and aftor a few months Inserted her.

The mock trial at (he Methodist

ing was filled to overflowing with an
appreciativ audience. Everything con

routine style and reflected great credit
on the proniotors of the entertainment.

W. A. Finn were appoiuUd to consult
with other property owners who are
interested in the avenue extension in
procure loaaes from them, nnd to ad
vertise for bids for the cost of grading.

Park, Arlington Heights. Woodlawu
