Owing to the failure of the Scranton
office of the Western Union Telegraph
company to receive the message after
midnight, Tuesday night, complete
election returns, which The Tribune
representative had compiled, were not
printed yesterday. The results are as
follows:
Upturns from the- eleven wards give
a clean sweep for the candidates of the
combined Citizens and Dsm icratto
tickets by n lariie majority, Tiiouiai
Maloney, the Citizen's candidate for
burgess, endorsed by the Democrat?, is
elected over Louis Seibel, Republican,
by a majority of 1,044. E. J McDon
nell. Democratic candidate for tax col
lector.had 701 to 077 for YV. II Young,
Republican, and 5ti7 for H, H, Drury,
Citizen's candidate. The balance of
the Democratic borough ticket is
elected by uiiij iritios varying from 850
to 350. For councils, J. H. Tigue,
Democrat, defeats Josepu S:iowden,
Citizen's candidnte in the fourth vnrd.
In the Ninth ward M. N. Donnelly,
dtlien'a nominee, defeats P. A.
