Death of an Old Resident.
At "J. 15 o'clock yesterday morning,
Thomas Wagststf an agsd and re
spected resident ;of this side, died at
his bona on Lafayette street after an
illness or two weeks, nome tune ago
Mr. Wagetaff was taken ssriously ill,
but it wa thought that he had recov
ered. He went about his daily em
ploymeut for a while, but his illness
was still working its way and grim
death became triumphant. Mr. Wag
staff was born in Warwickshire, Eng
land, and came to this oonntry thirty
years ago. He has resided on the West
Side since that time He is survived by
his widow and eight children, four
sons and four daughters. They are,
Edward, William, Joseph, John, Mrs
W G. Smith, Mrs E L. Rebar, Mrs.
E. U. Whitmore and Mrs. Robert Me
Kay, of South Africa. Mr. Wagstaff
was a man of sterling qualities; aud
his genial manner won for him a large
number of friend. He was a night
watchman for many years at the Mount
Pleasant mines, and was a teamstor at
the time of his sudden demise. The
funeral will take place tomorrow after
noon at 'J o'clock Interment will be
made in Forest Hill cemetery.
James Williamson, of Bromley ave
nue, fell ou the loe at Lackawanna

morning and wrenched his back aud
side so badly that he will be conliued
to the house for soveral days.
