Iu its review of the Itoo trade for the

no important developments during the

it more satifaotory condition. There
is a more active .inquiry for material,
aud iu a tew instances orders have
been placed for foundry irou for de

As a rule, however, buyer coutiuue
to exhibit cantioutiiess in anticipating
tor the future rrtiuireuiants, relying
on the oonpetition among the varloue
furnaces aud mills to keep prices from
taking auy sudden move upward. Pro
dilution of pig iron shows uo tendency
to increase, and stocks of unsold
iron at the furnaces nre of moderate
proportions and fluctuate from
mouth to mouth in very narrow
limits. At the foundries the supply
of pig irou lias never been smaller,
so that auy expansion of the
buying movement is likely to have a
beneficial rffect on prices. wbicU con
