Suubury branch of the Pennsylvania

ware and Hudson Canal company snip
ped from Hones lale 63,1136 tons of coal
and piled 4,7'iT tons They had on
hand at tbo close of the month, 103.033
tons on the Hones dale docks. Tno total
amount of coal mined and ship;3d by
thin company for tbe first month of

tons, mined and shipped during Janu
ary last year.
W. W, Kuley disclaims having at
tempted to make any estimate of tin
mined coal in this state, and tha figures
which are going the rounds of the
press, purporting to set forth the result
of bis investigations in that direction
are characterized by him rs unwar
ranted and misleading. Mr. Ruley has
evtdently been made tbe victim of
some statistical adventurer.
Tbe decision of tha stockholder of
the Bethlehem Iron company to double
the capital stock to $10,009,000 is re
garded by many as a move to f irestnll
possible competition from the fimbria
Iron company and other companies

window panels above, large tin tubes
abont seven inches in diamstir are
