t'oiisideriitiou of tho tariff bill and the
Hawaiian question has been partially
ecllsped by the rovolatinu of certain
tiiruro which tbe Health Department of
the Government has produced. It is
shown that, as compared with other
nations. America is lu fact a nation of
Htarvidinjis. We produce tbe grain, the
beef, the pork to fsed tho world ; but
Americans, themselves, appear thin,
palo and often puny. Authorities are
asking why this should be so, and it
has beau declare ! that it is because
wo are so intense, so active as u
nation. A prumiuent man in an
official capacity, however, lias declared
that it is because Americana do not se
cure tho proper benefit from the food
they eat. He assorts that "the fond
that gets into the stomach is not di
gested, hut after taxing the body to
try to digest it, it falls to make any
blood, tbua leaving the body in a worse
condition than IWore the food was
taken. A man or woman might us well
starve outright as to lake food into the
stomach and not to havo it digest."
It is perhaps becauseTof this revela
tion that the new discovery known as
1'askola, tb II stb-forming food, is at
tracting so in in-ii attention just now.
A well-known statesman in speaking
upon the subject, yesterday, said:
"1 do not know what 1 should do
with all the t-ares aud duties 1 have, if
I bad not something upon which to
build my strength. I have found that
ordinary foods do not auswer tho pur
pose, but I have found that by tho
steady uie of Pascola 1 have no trouble
witb indigestion and have gained a
number of pounds in weight. For this
reason 1 feel that that 1 cannot get
along without if,"
The eminent man nbov quoted is
only oue of a great many who are start
ing iu the new and advanced path
which has been shown to be the short
cut to health and stiength, and the at
tention of the people of Washington is
centered npou this subject which is
known to be bo important.
A pamphlet giving lull particulars
respecting 1'askola will be sent on ap
plication to the Pre Digested Food Co.,
lilt Duaue St. New York City.
