It is said hero that $100,000 i to b ex

railroad between Dunkirk and this city.
The line extends from DunkirK to Ti

to mean the beginning of the extension
of the Liko Shore to connot with th"
Lleech Creek and the Buffalo, Roches
ter and Pittsburg systems at Dubois
Plans are in hand for four new steel
bridges on the Dunkirk, Allegheny
Valley and Pittsburg, and contracts
are made to lay So-pound steel rails
along tho line. The road was built ns
a feeder for tho Like Shore from the
hemlock timber rsgion, and later got a
big business from the oil country. To'
cutting down of tho forests and the de
cline in oil had their effect and, in or
der to make it pay, it is proposed

has already a line graded within six
miles of Oil City, where work was
stopped because of an injunction se
cured by the Oil Creek roid, now a
part of the Western Naw York and
Pennsylvania, which has jnst been dis
solved. A circular hostile lu the Wilbur

question If Mr. Harris says that the
road while operated by the H aling
with all its enormous "throu.ru trade"

months -i: -r the same management;
