trouble, on this account during the past
Year or two. One case occurred last
Sear, when tho notorious outlaw, Neal
heridan, made his escape on account of
the greediness of Gov. Goary'a speidal
policemen In Schuylkill county. Sheri
dan, had conitnitted several atrocious
outrages in Schuylkill county, and the
authorities there o f a reward for his
arrest. He left; b t after a time ado
his appearance In Reading. Although
he was not ;known to tho policemen of
this city; Our keen-eyed Chief, Capt. Mc-
Neil, and his efficient 'brae, at once
