especially adapted to coin, wheat and ottts,m4
is a splendid stock eduntry. Of froitis not So'
much to bo said; it is afatlure in two-thirds of
the instances. I must mention sounithing
about our last year's crop. Wheat was a very.
good crop. Rye and oats were the., same; but
corn was only half a crop, on_ account of a
wet spring and an early frost. Tho yield of
potatoes was very large, and they are plenty.
They , are selling at ono dollar per bushel.
I will also mention market• prices of land
and stock. Land is ranging from two dollars
to fifty dollars per tacre. C a ttl e are, selling
from $l6 to $2O yearling; 2 yearkold from
$26 to $B5 per head. 'Stook hogs 8 tents per
pound.' Horses are low in proportion to other
stook. Fat Natio pro from 6 cents to 7 ceritA,
per pound gross. ' lilat'hogs are from fli °cute
to 10 cents per pound , gross.
My family are well at present. I have not
had such good health ainco I was sixteen years ;
of ago as since I have been here,' yet after all
